  • 1966 Italian at the trade school in Zurich.

  • 1971 English at the Little School of English & Commerce in Worthing, Sussex, UK; graduating with
    • English for overseas candidates by the Pitman Examination Institute and
    • Lower Certificate in English by the Cambridge University.
  • 1972 Boolean Algebra and Digital Components at Radio Schweiz AG, air traffic control in Zurich.
  • 1973 English Proficiency (without exam) at Hull's School of English and Modern Languages in Zurich.
  • 1975 Practical Digital Electronics by Hewlett Packard, self-taught at work (two books and a lab).
  • 1978 Correspondence course German (1 year) by AKAD.
  • 1979 Practical Microprocessors; Hardware, Software and Troubleshooting by Hewlett Packard, self-taught at work (book and lab).
  • 1981 Correspondence course Algebra and Analysis (4 years) and Geometry (3 years) by AKAD.
  • 1982 Taught myself dBASEII and programmed an inventary system for the earth station equipment. At the same time, got myself acquainted with VisiCalc, a spreadsheet application running under the CP/M 2.2 operating system.
  • 1989 Taught myself to get acquainted with the HP4195 Network/Spectrum Analyzer and programmed a measuring system with an adaptive low pass filter to automatically measure the carrier to noise ratio (c/n) of SCPC systems accessing different satellites automatically. Was in service for 10 years.
  • 1993 Digital Satellite Communications Technology, by PTT & Intelsat (in-house).
  • 1993 Telecommunications English, Intermediate Course in Technical English by PTT (in-house).
  • 1996 Webmaster Course, 3 days by The Blue Window (today Swisscom bluewin) in Zurich.
  • 1997 Finished and made Year-2000 compatible an electronic logbook programmed by a student (diploma project) in Visual BASIC on my own.
  • 1997 Intensive English Language Course by PTT (in-house).
  • 2000 TCP/IP course by Swisscom (in-house).
  • 2000 TCP Internetworking absorption and practise by Swisscom (in-house, practise at the University of Fribourg).
  • 2001 Introduction to Digital Hierarchies STM-1 at Siemens in Vevey, Switzerland.
  • 2001 MaxView Plus System Administration Advanced Training and User Forum Level II at Industrial Logic Corporation, Atlanta, GA, USA.
  • 2002 Taught myself to get acquainted with Visionael, collecting equipment data from the whole facility and fed it into the system.
