— Bryce Tipps: Libraries —

Libraries

Bryce has several libraries in which parts can be saved and recalled. The saved element is shown in a small picture. How the thumbnail is represented can — in some libraries — be defined before saving it. If it is selected it may be shown differently in the preview. This preview can be changed and the thumbnail in the library even changed.

Objects

The object defines the form. How it is shown can be adjusted. To do so, hold down the left mouse button (LMB) and move the mouse. Once the preview looks as desired, let go of the mouse. Additionally to the left mouse button, three keys on the keyboard have a function.

  • [LMB]: move mouse forward/backward = object tilts; move mouse left/right = object tilts sideways.
  • [LMB]+[Spacebar]: move mouse forward/backward = object moves up/down; move mouse left/right = object moves left/right.
  • [LMB]+[CTRL]: move mouse forward/backward = object moves away/approaches; move mouse left/right = object rotates sideways around its centre.
Materials

The object onto which the material is applied can be selected. This object onto which the material is put on can be manipulated exactly as an object in the Objects Library.

Textures

For a texture, only a Flat (or 2D-face), a Cube or a Sphere can be selected to have the texture applied on to. This textured object is stored in the library.

Replacing a Thumbnail in the Library

If the thumbnail saved in the library does not show the object, material or texture good enough, it can be replaced. First select the thumbnail and adjust its appearance. Hold down the keys [Shift]+[CTRL] and click on the thumbnail to be replaced in the library.
