— The Weather in CH-3952 Susten: Location — Location and Environment The weather station is located at 7°38'32.7" North und 46°18'30.9" East, 675 m a.s.l. (2,214 ft) in the Rhone valley, Valais, Switzerland.
For the two pictures at bottom centre terrains were made from height data and a satellite image drapped over it. The camera is located at 2,000 m (6,560 ft). That's about how the upper winds «see» the valley. Winds from the east are stronger and dry (föhn), winds from the west are humid and may bring rain. The valley is like a channel, winds from north and south become winds from east and west at this location. For the picture at bottom right, several terrains were made from geo data with a resolution of 60 m/px (197 ft/px) and assembled to a landscape. The textures are procedural ones, sky and illumination are from a spherical HDRI panorama that was photographed at the valley floor; clouds and sky are therefore real. The virtual Bryce 7.1 camera is above the mountain Wildstrubel at 4000 m (13,123 ft) altitude and is looking due south. |
